Tiiiiiiimmmmmbbbbbbeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrr!

So on Friday, Megan collected her dry wood to make a fire with her Dad. He was too tired after work but told her he'd have a look on Saturday. Megan had made a little ring of stones on the patio and put her few dried sticks in the middle - looked like a great campsite fire but Liam had bigger ideas.

We've got a ready-made fire pit at the moment where we filled in the pond, so Liam started chopping up the compost bin that he recently dismantled (Mrs Battersham will be turning in her grave at us demolishing her garden)!

When we realised it was going to be a bigger fire, we knew to ring the cousin! Leanne in particular loves bonfires so we planned for them to come for tea. And then with Phil on board, the fire committee was in place! (It didn't actually include Megan! She had got distracted by her cousins and wasn't a bit interested in the fire in the end!)

Look who's getting excited!

Has any one got a lighter? If you get any closer, you might lose your eyebrows!

And that's were this post should end! But as Phil and Liam looked around for more things to burn (!) Liam asked Phil (who was a tree surgeon in a former life) to take some off the top of the eucalyptus tree at the side of our house. You can see it here next to Liam - it was about as tall as the edge of our roof.

So he climbed and set to work chopping, and Liam collected the debris and burned it...

It looked like a eucalyptus murder has taken place on the lawn!

And this is the morning after the night before! Remember never to let Phil cut your hair!

While the bonfire committee were outside, Lorraine was determined to win on the SingStar!
