Final morning with Lucy - how could you take her from us Helen?

Its funny how you forget details about people when you don't see them for a while! I've spent so much time with Helen over the years and yet still I forget how you ALWAYS get filthy when you spend time her!

Here's a picture of how Megan ended up when Helen looked after her in Sheffield once!

Its like muck is drawn to her! So a little walk at Danbury Lakes (which we've done before without any problems!) finished with us all getting covered in mud! You see when we've been before, we walked along the path - that's usual, isn't it! But as Helen jumped in the stream (in her wellies) all the kids did too!
At the end of the stream was a little bridge with a big sign! Sam didn't see the need to pay attention of the "Warning: Deep Water" sign and was asking if he could limbo under the bridge! By then, one of his trouser legs had come out of his wellie and was soaked to the knee!

We had great fun with Lucy in the lakes - but so predictable! Helen was standing in the edge of the lake with Lucy while she splashed in and out - Sam and Leah were getting awfully close to the edge, just watching!

Next minute Sam slipped in the lake to his thighs and he had to spend the rest of the trip emptying water out of his wellies! At least we didn't have to worry about his trouser legs coming out again! At least he wasn't as wet as Lucy!

Of course when we came to the trees, Helen was more excited than the kids about climbing them! She was up in a moment, quickly followed by Megan and Leah, but Sam decided there wasn't enough room for him too! He did eventually get Helen to heave him up, but he didn't look very happy!

Leah's always looking to Sam for wisdom - he's often moaning "Why does she always ask me - I don't know everything!" Today, however, he was happy to impart his wisdom - he was teaching her how to make fire by rubbing sticks together! A very useful skill! And they were economical - both rubbing the same stick! Megan decided to collect dry wood and take it hope for Dad to help her as they weren't successful!

We all left the lakes covered in mud, or splash from Lucy, or with soggy feet but we'd had loads of fun.

We've LOVED having Helen and Lucy stay - Helen is like one of our family and we're ALL thrilled because we've booked a trip to visit her and Marc in the New Forest later in the year.

Your photos are always good but those of Lucy jumping in the river are fabulous!
